Inland Kaikoura Range – Clarence Valley access

Correction for Kaikoura – Kahurangi : a guide for climbers (p.30). Climbers wanting to access Tapuae-o-Uenuku, Alarm, and other peaks from Bluff Station or Muzzle Station please note!

The private 4WD road from Kekerengu to Bluff Station also passes through the property of Ainslie & Robin Green (800 Kekerengu Valley Rd, Kekerengu 7371). This means that anyone wanting to use this access road must ask permission from Ainslie & Robin Green (phone:  03-575 8678), as well as from Richard Murray (Bluff Station, phone 03-575 8622). It is not sufficient to ask only Richard Murray, since he is not entitled to give anyone else permission to pass through the Greens’ property.

If you are going into Muzzle Station, you also need to obtain permission from Colin Nimmo.

Please take care to respect the landowners’ rights – this is not a public access road, it passes through private properties.
